OTTO JUNKER GMBH and LIOS TECHNOLOGY GMBH have concluded a research and development contract as well as an exclusive delivery contract in connection with the use of fibre optic temperature measuring systems on industrial furnaces. As a first result of this cooperation, OTTO JUNKER GMBH will present the fibre optic crucible monitoring system OCP (Optical Coil Protection) on the occasion of the GIFA 2003, which permits monitoring of the temperature distribution on the crucible outside of a coreless induction furnace continuously and with a high resolution so that trends of crucible wear as well as local defects can be determined reliably.
