The temperature profile data, in any desired form or format, can be transmitted via standard interfaces from the DTS unit as required, and be either displayed or further processed by PC, PLC or SCADA systems. As a result of the increasing demands placed on the ability to network and integrate measuring systems into management systems, LIOS offers embedded network components that record DTS measurement data and transport or convert it to the required network standards and protocols like Modbus, DNP3, IEC60870-5 or XML based data interfaces.

LIOS Technology GmbH is the first DTS supplier with an Energistics ® WITSML ™ Certified Product. Energistics ® (previously known as POSC) data interface. The petrotechnical protocol standard Energistics ® WITSML ™  ensures compatible data streams on TCP/IP level of distributed temperature profiles, backscattering profiles and event data. LIOS offers its DTS systems with integrated protocol converter, technologies to safely transfer data and enable its integration into customised database structures.

This integrated system setup makes LIOS’ DTS units ideally suited for every off-shore or remote sensing demand: one single evaluation unit with a power consumption of typically 26W senses up to 8 fibres with each up to 10km length and directly creates all measurement data in WITSML format.

In recent cases the ENERGISTICS-compliant WITSML ™  output data is organised as per-measurement compressed files, strictly following all requirements of the latest WITSML™  standard 1.3.1. which enables a seamless integration into data storage, reduction, interpretation and visualisation infrastructures. The data files are produced either by LIOS Technology's Charon_02 PC visualisation software or by a built-in embedded system in the DTS itself. Furthermore our flexible data handling design enables the embedded storage and visualisation of external point- type data, like signals from pressure / temperature gauges.

Alternatively the DTS can directly produce WITSML™  data streams to be transferred to data storage units like commercial database servers.

The data transfer to the storage machine is performed over an industry-standard Ethernet network, optionally with state-of-the-art secure authentication and encryption to enable the safe use of existing LAN, WAN or wireless infrastructures.
